Team

Technical depth.
Commercial discipline.

Enleashed is led by a founding team spanning formal market design, electricity system architecture, capital strategy, and commercial execution. Building a new coordination layer for the grid requires all four.

Leadership
Shaun Sweeney
Shaun Sweeney
Founder & CEO

Building the coordination architecture from first principles.

Shaun is the founder of Enleashed and the architect of its core mechanism design. His work combines electricity market theory, cyber-physical control, and fairness-constrained allocation to define a new coordination layer for electricity systems.

At Imperial College London, Shaun developed the formal mathematical foundations for a real-time coordination mechanism for electricity markets, including convergence results, fairness guarantees, and prototype implementation. Before founding Enleashed, he worked across energy technology, digital platforms, and infrastructure-facing commercial environments.

Market design

AMM mechanism design, scarcity allocation, service differentiation, fairness rules

Control theory

Closed-loop coordination, convergence analysis, cyber-physical systems

Energy systems

Wholesale-market interface, DER integration, local network coordination

Commercial grounding

Energy SaaS, infrastructure context, product strategy, regulated market entry

Blake Penney
Blake Penney
Co-Founder & CFO

Turning deep technical advantage into commercially credible execution.

Blake leads finance, capital strategy, and commercial structuring at Enleashed. He brings experience across infrastructure investment, financial analysis, and energy-adjacent commercial environments, helping translate novel system architecture into something fundable, deployable, and legible to customers and investors.

His role is central to shaping how Enleashed enters the market: how the company frames value, structures partnerships, prioritises near-term deployment pathways, and builds a capital plan consistent with long-horizon infrastructure software. At Enleashed, Blake ensures the commercial model is as rigorous as the technical one.

Finance

Capital strategy, financial modelling, infrastructure investment logic, fundraising support

Commercial strategy

Business model design, customer positioning, go-to-market discipline, investor narrative

Energy markets

Commercial implications of market reform, regulated infrastructure pathways, deployment economics

Execution

Operating cadence, strategic prioritisation, diligence readiness, commercial decision support

Now hiring

We're building the engineering team.

Following our first funding round, we're looking for engineers who want to build critical infrastructure for the electricity system. If you care about climate and want to work on a technically demanding, genuinely unsolved problem — we want to hear from you.

Backend / Systems

Coordination kernel engineer

Build the core allocation engine — real-time scarcity inference, constraint solver, and signal distribution. Python or Julia preferred. Experience with time-series data and optimisation.

Data / Integration

DNSP integration engineer

Build the data ingestion layer — DNSP adapters, feeder topology processing, and real-time telemetry pipelines. Experience with energy data formats and API design.
